This can be a tricky phrase if you have NO idea what it means. To some, it may seem as though it, to follow your heart, means that what ever is at the end of the proverbial heart following journey has to contain only SUPER positive heart warming, mainly doing things that involve something with what they perceive that has a tender, soft, hearts flying all over the place... connotation, being left with the idea that it is not consistently practical. Thinking that "practical" has to feel hard, that with out some struggle, what's truly in the heart, hasn't been "earned"
It's practical~everyday~no struggle involved~the only price to pay is to follow your joy. Seems simple put in words but let's apply it with a few tools for everyday life as the topic can appear vast.
To follow your, can also be translated into following your joy is simple. Ask yourself "What do I like to do?" "What is inspirational to me?" "What automatically makes my ears pierce and eyes light up?" These questions all have to be done sober and when you are feeling fairly good. Doing this drugged up or drunk can leave you making decisions based on a temporary lived embodiment of synthetic emotions rather than authentic. Decisions made when you're pissed/sad/angry more often than not, leave you making choices based on some kind of lack based consciousness. Your heart is a guidance tool as well. Many studies on how the heart always has an impact on your life and the direction you're. If you truly allow your heart, it can guide to experience your best life yet.
When you're asking these joy-directioned queries, first do an energy clearing on yourself. This can be done by imagining a rose colored light filling the entirety of your being eliminating any attachments, cords to others or them to you, and any negativity your soul is ready to release at this time to receive the best answers for where you are at this place and time. Feel yourself grounded to the earth by imagining thick roots being tied to the center of the earth from the base of your spine. This is so that you make decisions that are in alignment with your mind, body and spirit and not so much on flight or fight response that can be made more frequently when you're too much in your head, too many thoughts swinging left and right. It helps to make decisions that feel more sturdy and long lasting and your motives more pure instead of with specific attachments to either people or outcomes. This next tool will help you get into your heart space, or more likely feel/understand the story it has to tell you, which is you but more your truest version.
a) take a deep breath
b)put your hands over your heart
c) feel love for yourself or at least appreciation for the moment
d) smile and allow the truest part of your being answer
e) write it down with out judgment of what appears
This whole practice should feel great as it's a mini hunt for your truest passions as of now. Try not to get too caught up in what you used to think defined you or what other people will think. Others may change their mind about their own direction as well and if anything, you can be an inspiration of being more authentic to yourself. Also, if it's a career change, it's fine to consider money but if it's an authentic passion of yours, the money will be part of it to show you support naturally. From what I've studied, money along with all other things that make up your idea of happy, will naturally appear as you will be in a vibration to receive it..your worth it. To me, money is a neutral energy, it helps you if you see it that way. When you're following your heart, you feel more supported by the universe and also will feel more supported by others. If that's not the case now, get into self love and joy and those people that will support and nourish your path will naturally show up in your life. I can personally attest to that! Because when you show up for yourself, you show others how to show up for you too. You deserve that.
Keep in mind your physical health when making any decisions. I think I will put a 'drink your water' reminder in everyone of these posts. VERY important to be hydrated and don't count other drinks, if you're going to have them, keep up with your water no matter what. At least 50 oz a day and more if you're going to be active, sweaty or in dry environments.
Get your vitamins as much as possible. Usually when you eat a rainbow of colors a day, it can improve a variety of nutrients needed.
Colors:Dark earth toned teal and pale yellow. Those colors can help with feeling grounded and confident in self, there fore more self assured in whatever direction feels awesome to you.
Play! Play outside, do something that makes you laugh! That automatically will put you in the zone to make the sufficient changes needed to live your best life suited for you.
Look, this is your life, if you're stuck or feeling like everyday looks like the other and your sense of joy is down, all of this can only help.
Song: Aenema by Tool~ to help you with the feeling of being stuck to really allow whatever emotions that are keeping you from following your hearts desire arise.
Free falling by Tom Petty~ mainly for the "hook phrase" to really get into the feeling of spreading those proverbial wings of yours and GO FOR IT!
With love and appreciation
